Walked in the Tradition Plateau today en route to and returning from a
hike up West Tiger Mountain. Almost all the bird activity on this outing
was in a 100 m stretch of the Power Line Trail, including:
7 warblers - Orange-crowned, Yellow (2), Audubon's, Black-throated Gray
(3, including 1 juve), Townsend's, MacGillivray's (2), and Wilson's (5)
3 vireos - Hutton's (2), Warbling (6), and Red-eyed
4 woodpeckers - Red-breasted Sapsucker (2, 1 juve), Hairy, Pileated, and
Northern Flicker
Rufous Hummingbird - 2 female/juve
many Western Tanager and Cedar Waxwing
very many Swainson's Thrush, including a flock of at least 6 out in the
open feeding on ripe elderberries
