Subject: [Tweeters] Vantage - confusion about REC road

After the report of Black-throated Sparrows along REC road, I took a trip
over to the Vantage area. without doing proper research on where anything
was located. When I asked at the Wild Horse Wind Farm visitor's center where
"REC Rd" was, I was told, "Well, this is the Renewal Energy Center road".
So, it was a "duh" moment for me. Now, I see mention of a Recreation Road
that apparently connects more closely to beautiful downtown Vantage. Perhaps
this is the one the Black-throated Sparrows were hanging around.

Hi Tweets,
A couple of people have written about my report of the five Loggerhead
Shrikes, so thought I'd let people know the trail I went on was off
Recreation Road.on the left side of the road (if you are driving towards the
river.) If you "google" Vantage, WA, the map pops up and you can see two
roads leading off to the left, off of Recreation Road. I took the lower
road. The sign says "No Unauthorized Vehicles." It's an old road, but
overgrown, so it looks more like a trail.
The Shrikes were on the right side of the trail, past the old corral. If
you get to the old building (I think it's an old cistern) with someone's
name and "1933" painted on it, you have gone too far.
And.I did not see family groups of Canyon Wrens.they were Rock Wrens. My
bad (or whatever the kids say).
