I think I remember you said in a prior email that the sighter didn't think
they were pelicans. Did she say why she ruled out pelicans?

There are definitely Am. White Pelicans in that area. We got a pelican in
the museum yesterday that evidently hit a power line Friday. It was from
the Pheasant Valley Shooting Preserve NNW of La Crosse (Whitman Co.), which
is next to the Palouse River. The person that brought the bird in said a
large flock of pelicans has been spending the summer on the river there,
which is not too far (as the Pelican flies) from Central Ferry Park.

Since last post the sighter says that they actually saw the all white, black
wingtip very large birds on the Snake River at Central Ferry Park--they were
in a car crossing the river.
Are pelicans here, any potential for that ever elusive whooping crane?
