Peregrine Falcons, presumably the Port of Olympia family, have been making a
scene on the Capitol dome for the past several days. They are noisy and
busy, flying around the dome and perching at various locations around its
perimeter, sometimes plucking their prey while perched there. A walk in the
vicinity yielded one bird wing on the ground. You can hear the bird, at
times, in the south Capitol neighborhood or outside my office building,
WSDOT hdqtrs. I saw three birds today but suspect there's more than just one
fledgling around. I just haven't spent enough time looking thanks the
indentured servitude that is state service.
