Hi Tweeters & Inland-NW-Birders -

An updated version of the 2011 county year list project is up at
Washington Birder. We've received updates from almost all the
counties with details through the end of June. County compilers,
especially for the underbirded counties, would appreciate receiving
reports of any birds seen in their counties.

With half the year complete, it appears that more species are being
seen overall this year than at the same point last year. 25 of 39
counties are doing better this year than they were last year, with
most of those (16) being in Western WA. Last year at the end-of-June
update, we had tallied 310 species in Western WA, 293 in Eastern WA
and 346 state-wide.
This year we've tallied 326 in Western WA, 291 in Eastern WA, and 365
statewide.

If you'd like to take a look at where things stand, the list and many
other interesting files are at the Washington Birder website:

compilers, including a growing number of direct links to individual
county year lists with more details and more frequent updates:

Thanks to all the compilers and all those pitching in to sketch a
picture of another year's birds in WA.
