Anne Kahle, Barry Woodruff and I spent the day poking around in Skamania County. Our best birds of the 67 species that I checked off were in North Bonneville. Along the road leading to the Hot Springs Resort we spotted a hummingbird feeder in the backyard of a house (across from the entrance to the Bass Lake parking area) that had numerous birds around it. Here we spotted a CALLIOPE and an ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD among the many RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS. Past the resort we stopped along Greenleaf Slough where we found a small flock of BANK SWALLOWS working the air over the water, this was only my second sighting of this species in Skamania County.
