Hello Tweeters,
I decided to driving to Bottle Beach & Ocean Shores,The weather was perfect
and the tide was not to early 12.14 PM ,but it was not a big High tide 6.6
feet, what only came to the piling. But I managed to getting some few
photos.Nothing rare but a nice group of Long-billed & Short-billed
Dowitcher's ,was on the flats behind the pilings,it was kind of muddy to
walk out.Lot's of groups of Western and Least, there was already feeding
earlier ,so there mostly standing quietly.Close to shore I had a nice group
of 32 birds of Semipalmated Plovers right on the trail.
1.00 PM I left for Ocean Shores using the Beach from the Tower to the
large amount of waters. There I found Western &Least Sandpipers with a huge
group of Semipalmated Sandpipers around 30 Birds. This is the second year
that this species appearing in Ocean shores in this large numbers. So this
birds are moving migrating more south. This was my best bird of the
day, beside the Juvenile Peregrine who chased this birds to dead.I don't
think he got no prey, and flew off,But this birds went flying around so
restless about 45 minutes an would not settle.I was sitting on some
driftwood watching the show.I went and looked on Bills Spit and there
where in the thousands of Gulls on the Mudflats way out, but no
Shorebirds.I took the time and visiting some friends who soon moving to
Seattle, she can see from her property Bills Spit,This weekend is perfect for
Shorebirds all three day.
