The bird was definitely a Pin-tailed Whydah. I finally got around to some research a couple of nights ago. Here's a couple of web-sites that help clear up the differences that I saw. One of the photos on the first website shows a shorter tail on the Whydah and the other explains some of the other differences and that they are 'pets'. I was hoping someone would contact me saying they had lost 'Woody' the Whydah (or whatever) but that didn't happen.
