Does anyone know about what species of wasps or stinging flying insects that
resemble such might be at the Lake Aldwell, Elwha River area west of Port
Angeles. Both my friend and dog were stung today. They were not yellow
jackets, darker in color and in the woods along the shoreline.

The bite was initially painful, no swelling, but residual pain is quite
intense and spread out over several inches from the bite site.



If anyone knows what might be out there please let me know off list.
