At a friend's house this evening in West Seattle on the ridge above Mee Kwa
Mooks park, and a Common Nighthawk flew over, giving its buzzy call and
side-to-side wing flaps. As a kid growing up in West Seattle a long time
ago, they were a fixture of summer evenings, but I'll bet it's been nearly
45 years since they and I were here at the same time. A fun moment.
