Hi group ... Gene and I went up to The Dalles today and took the road
to Dufur to check out the Bank Swallows ... and they were there
!!!!!!!!!!!! ... didn't appear to be feeding young tho as we didn't
see that in/out/in/out pattern of flying that we saw continually at
the Toutle River colony last week ... these birds seemed mostly to
fly in the space infront of the bank or over in the surrounding
fields ... when they did enter a hole they stayed inside for quite
some time ... it was fun to watch them ... and they constantly
CHATTERED !!! ...

anyways, I got my best pictures to date of Bank Swallows !!!!! ... it
helped that the The Dalles to Dufur swallows were YARDS closer than
the Toutle River Swallows (grin) ...

here's 3 images ...

lots of swallows ---
