Subject: [Tweeters] Potholes surprise

Barry Levine, Marvin Cooper and I spent the day in the Quincy/Moses
lake/Potholes area today. We mostly saw the expected species, but as we
were leaving Potholes State Park, a female Sharp-tailed Grouse with
chicks ran across the road in front of our car into the adjacent sage.
We were stunned to see this bird there, as it is quite a bit south of
its usual haunts in the Waterville plateau. If someone has contact
information for Michael Schroeder please let me know so I can pass the
information on to him.
