Dear Tweets

Watched a Red winged black bird dive bomb a flying Crow this weekend near
the pond along with a few swallows near the Nisqually River. The pond does
not have the first duck this spring. Earlier this year there were at least
five or six ducks of three different types. Now? There are none. Maybe
they are hiding somewhere?

In the distance, across the river, I noticed possibly a Grey Jay sitting in
a dead evergreen.

A pair of Cedar Waxwings were sitting in the trees alongside the Yelm Tenino
trail near its end in an evergreen.

I heard a few swallows, but did not see them at the canal - they usually are
flying above the water. There are probably swallow nests under the bridge,
but I don't dare get too close to actually see them. I hope that the recent
housing development hasn't scared them away as they are building new homes
nearly on top of the canal in Yelm in the Mountain Shadow subdivision.

I heard a Red winged black bird as well, in his usual spot, but he did not
appear from the briar thicket on the canal.
