Belated trip report for May 28th (Scatter Creek and Brady Loup)

?The three of us began the cold, drizzly morning heading through the Brady Loup out of Elma, first spotting some Savannah Sparrows, followed by a good number of bank swallows, tree swallows and barn swallows. Turkey vultures were abundant. Two Great Blue Herons were also sighted. Several Greater Scaup floated in the flooded fields nearly halfway around the loup. An osprey was observed in a snag near the river, as well as a gold-crowned sparrow. Just as we were about to head to Scatter Creek around 10AM we spotted a marsh hawk, feeding in a pasture. Arriving at Scatter Creek, the viewing was fast-paced, often with multiple species appearing at once, the bird list for Scatter Creek; American Kestrel, Red Tailed Hawk, Coopers Hawk, Scrub Jay, Black Throated Gray Warbler, Black Headed Grosbeak, Cedar Waxwing, Marsh Wren, Bewick's Wren, Orange Crowned Warbler, Red Breasted Sapsucker, Common Yellowthroat, Yellow Warbler, Mourning Dove, Chipping Sparrow and Western Tanager for significant sightings, not a bad day for fairly poor weather.
