Those feathers look like wild turkey primaries. The curve of the feather quill is distinctive of game birds, while the pattern and size says "turkey." If you want a good guide to feather ID, check out:

BIRD FEATHERS: A Guide to North American Species by Dave Scott and Casey MacFarland. Excellent resource!

Dave and Casey are both excellent naturalists who came together to create this great book. They are good friends of mine and I would recommend this to any serious naturalist.

It is amazing how few birders pursue the challenge of recognizing birds by their feathers. Learning feathers certainly forces you to look at field marks more deeply.

This field guide makes learning feather ID a manageable undertaking. Knowing birds by voice and field mark is a pleasure, but knowing them also by their feathers adds another element of richness
to bird observations. Also, it can tell you a story about an event you missed observing directly such as an act of predation or molting.

Along with other forms of tracking, feather identification can really enrich our experience and our understanding of the many stories that
make up the lives of our feathered friends.

Seeing a bird and ticking it off your list is one aspect of observation, but observing their lives more deeply is also rewarding.

Enjoy those birds,
