Subject: [Tweeters] Rose-breasted Grosbeak in Seattle (Madrona)

Hello Tweeters,

This evening (Friday June 10) our usual feeder crew of birds,
including several pairs of Black-headed grosbeaks, was joined from 6 to 7 PM
by a beautiful male Rose-breasted Grosbeak. It was actively feeding at both
our suet and cracked sunflower feeders about 10 to 15 feet from our window.
It was steadily present from 6 to 7 PM. It disappeared for an hour but was
back briefly at 8 to 8:10 PM. This is a first for our backyard, just south
of East Cherry Street. The Grosbeaks don't seem to interfere with our other
birds (house finches, red-breasted Nuthatches, both chickadees and
flickers).

Be sure to keep your eyes on your feeders!

Good birding to
all,

Fran
