My dad will be in town this weekend, and we wanted to go birding in the
Ellensburg area. BUT, I've been hearing about bad road conditions for a while --
can anyone give me specifics? Is Umtanum Road safe in a Honda Civic? Any other
suggestions about where it is/isn't safe to go?

Also, Dad hasn't seen a Sooty Grouse, so I'm hoping for suggestions about where
to look as we go out I90 or somewhere in the Ellensburg area. He's disabled, so
walking on really rocky and/or steep trails is difficult (or impossible) for
him.
