Hi, I thank everyone for all the information, and especially to the party who actually let me pick up a starling house trap and sparrow trap this afternoon. They worked well for him. And he has not had any in several years. I guess there were some negative comments, but since I get tweeters in digest, I did not read them.I have to do the best for the native birds on my property, and that is all there is to it. While doing some clearing today, I began to get suspicious as to why the Robin nest on top of a bird box, just below our roof line, has still not been used, altho it was done by the end of May. I got on a ladder, and hit the birdbox with my rake, and heard LOTS of buzzing, and barely got off the ladder. They are the same species as the ones in the chickadee house, but not nearly as friendly. Perhaps they are unhappy about being booted to a lesser quality home site???
