Hello Tweets,

Paddling and photographing on the Sammamish Slough today, I visited
the now nearly-week-old Common Merganser chicks (nine survive of the
original eleven I counted). Photos will follow, I promise.

But meanwhile, I took a side-trip into the north end of Lake
Sammamish and while visiting a rather tame Great Blue Heron, I saw
one of the resident Bald Eagles dive from its Cottonwood perch. I
fired six shots and, to my surprise, they not only revealed its
successful catch, but all six were technically of decent quality
(which is to say, at my current level of photography I am not
embarrassed by them). They are posted here with some other wildlife
