In response to a previous message, the Chiricahuas are closed. I was just
there about three weeks ago. Even access to areas that aren't burning are
closed, so that fire trucks have access to the mountains.



However, we had great birding around Portal, despite not being able to get
into the canyons. Cave Creek Ranch has an update on their homepage:
