I made a similar sighting in Snohomish in a farming area last fall. I'm positive it was a kingbird, but figured it was a western kingbird due to the range.

Dear Tweets:
I was pleased to read in my Tweeters digest today Ryan Merrill's report
of an Eastern Kingbird at Juanita Bay Park, because it makes me think
that maybe I really did see what I thought I saw in Seattle on Monday
(June 20).
I was playing golf at Jackson Park Golf Course in Seattle about 4:30 pm,
when a bird flashed across the fairway, and the only thing I clearly
noticed, especially because of the play of the light, was the white
fringe along the end of the tail. My immediate, unthinking reaction was:
"Eastern Kingbird." But then I thought: "Eastern Kingbird in Seattle???
I don't know about that!" But I don't really see what else it could
have been. It was kingbird-sized.
