Good morning All,

I took a brief trip to Nisqually this AM. I was able to find the Golden Plover that was reported yesterday on the riparian/ river restoration flats north of the dike and the twin barns. The bird was seen from about 0650 to 0730 at which time it flew toward MacAllister Creek and was lost from view. The bird was somewhat distant and I took fairly extensive notes. At this point I am deferring judgment as to specific identification until I have a chance to consult some references. Most features seem to point towards Pacific, but a couple of features seem inconsistent with that conclusion. What I can say is that this bird appears to be an adult female in molt. I will comment further when I have a chance to check references and view a couple of the photos I know are out there. All for now, I must be off to other things?

Cheers and good birding,
