Someone asked me a 'stump the chump' question recently, "What do you call
the structure under the foot of a black oystercatcher?" Anyone have any
idea what exactly the question is? ...and don't say "a rock"; I impulsively
thought of that first off already :-)) The question has something to do
with black oystercatcher foot anatomy I suppose. I asked Mr. know-it-all,
"Dr Google" using a variety of wording and ideas but didn't get anywhere much
beyond just 'fun facts' and such and a lot of links to assorted mollusks,
bridges, and human. Thanks. ---Richard
