Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday March 3. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

BAND-TAILED PIGEONS are now arriving in numbers. Flocks of MEADOWLARKS are
now being seen. On March 1 a northward movement of gulls were seen along the
coast, mainly GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULLS with many CALIFORNIA and HERRING GULLS.

On February 26 a GLAUCOUS GULL was at Tillamook Bay. Another was on Sauvie
Island the next day. The 2000 SNOW GEESE are still on Sauvie island. On
February 27 three CINNAMON TEAL and three BLUE-WINGED TEAL were in Scappoose
Bottoms. The ACORN WOODPECKERS are still being seen at Delta Park in North
Portland. The bright male COSTA?S HUMMINGBIRD is still coming to an Aloha
feeder. The feeder can be seen from Lawndale Park. On March 1 the Tangent
BALD EAGLE evening roost contained 132 birds.

On Lower Klamath NWR February 26, 29 LAPLAND LONGSPURS were found among the
HORNED LARK flocks. Among the SANDHILL CRANE flock at Lower Klamath NWR
February 26 was pure white SANDHILL CRANE showing a red crown.
