Hi all,

I finally posted the answer to the mystery bird. I stumbled upon this beautiful bird while looking for a roosting owl. Oh, what a pleasant surprise it was:)

Hint: A cavity nester, with a blue orbital ring, bluish bill, long tail with white (somewhere near the tip?)...yellowish-green head.

Thanks to all who participated! Trip report and photos to come but it will be a while.

Good birding,

Hi all,

Just returned from a wonderful trip to Vietnam. Not an exclusive, birding trip but I got to see some beautiful birds and people, and ate some great food! It was an emotional trip filled with good memories and mixed feeling about my father country.

It will take a while to process photos and a trip report. I travelled and birded independently without a birding guide so it was a bit challenging but fun. Some of my favorites birds were the pittas, kingfishers, and sunbirds.

For now, I leave you a 'mystery' bird image for those who like challenges. You can email me privately with your answer or guess. I will reveal the bird's identity later.

More later and good birding!
