Tweets,

I was walking back to my home from the nearby grocery store (HT Market, on
Aurora at 100th) yesterday at about 5:30 when I flushed a bird up from the
ivy behind the building. On inspection, I determined it to be a
Sharp-Shinned Hawk, and rather small even for that; probably a male. I
didn't want to discourage him from finishing his meal, but I was curious as
to what it WAS, so from about twenty feet I examined the carcase and
discovered it was a pigeon. I was astonished! I didn't think a Sharpie could
handle a pigeon, let alone a rather small one, but apparently, it can!

Good for the Sharpie, and unfortunate for the pigeon, but it's hard for me
to feel bad for the pigeon. Nice to see our local raptors getting mad
skillz.
