Tweets,
Weather guessers said sunny and light winds, so off to Marrowstone Island for the day.....greeted by high winds and gray skies. The Yellow-billed Loon was not seen, despite diligent searching along the north side of Fort Flagler SP. No murrelets of any flavor seen either. Beach access to Marrowstone Point closed due to tsunami warning. In better news, behind the Nordland Store the Northern Mockingbird posed for close up views. Be sure to stop in to the store and thank the owner for tolerating birders walking up Bevridge lane behind the store to stalk the NOMO (buy something and wear your bins). Birds at the beach access NW corner of Ft. Flagler:
Brant
Common Loon
Surf Scoter
Bufflehead
Common Goldeneye
Long-tailed Duck
Harlequin Duck
Horned Grebe
Black-bellied Plover
Black Turnstone
Dunlin
Sanderling
Mew Gull
GW Gull
Pigeon Gillemot
