Wow, I'm actually in the majority on pluh-ver. But I think I'm in the
minority on Scoter. I go back and forth between Scoh-ter and Scaw-ter,
but Scaw-ter seems more "right" to me. I think most birders go with
Scoh-ter. I largely solved the problem by moving to Pullman. At least I
don't say Scooter, but I kind of like that pronunciation.
