Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday March 17. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

On March 12 a male TUFTED DUCK was Ankeny NWR. It did not remain. The male
COSTA?S HUMMINGBIRD continues to be seen at an Aloha feeder.

RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS moved northward through western Oregon during the week,
about a week to 10 days later than usual. Large numbers of TREE and
VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS are now in the state.

On March 10 about 140 KITTIWAKES and 220 RHINOCEROS AUKLETS were off Lincoln
City. At least 10 LAPLAND LONGSPURS and 12 SNOW BUNTINGS were on Clatsop
Beach March 16. Two early CASPIAN TERNS were at Astoria March 11.

Two HOUSE WRENS were at Ridgefield NWR March 12. They may have wintered on
the refuge. There is now an almost pure white hummingbird coming to a
Vancouver feeder. The Sauvie Island Rentenaar Road HARRIS?S SPARROW continue
to be seen. On March 13 a GLAUCOUS GULL was along Livermore Road north of
Baskett Slough NWR. A EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL was seen March 16 on
Stewart Pond in Eugene.

On March 15 a flock of 20 TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS was seen along LaMonta Road
north of Prineville.

That?s it for this week.
