Tweeters,

A rare partly cloudy night had me listening for owls from my yard in Battle
Ground, Clark County. I was rewarded with one NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL
(4:15am) and one GREAT-HORNED OWL. During the day, raptors are becoming
more noticeable although I can only guess at which ones are migrants and
which are locals (3/17 and 3/19):

Red-tailed Hawk 9 (7 in view at one time although I believe that 4 of them
were locals) and 2 on 3/19
Cooper's Hawk 1 and 1 - this is the local bird that was showing off with
courtship flight this morning and lots of ca-ca-ca ing
Turkey Vulture - 1 and 2
American Kestrel 0 and 1
Bald Eagle 2 and 1

There was at least one Lesser Goldfinch in the area this morning although it
didn't come to a feeder. A FOY male Rufous Hummingbird visited the feeder
twice quite to the disgust of the two local Anna's Hummers.

Keep your eyes and ears skyward.
Jim
