I could only find one Black-crowned Night Heron at the Josephine Retirement
Center in Stanwood this morning at 10:40. Good look from the parking lot at
273rd PL NW and 100th Ave NW, as suggested earlier. The bird I saw today
was low in the northernmost conifer, just slightly above the level of the
roof of the building, roosting peacefully. A lifer for me and worth the
trip to Stanwood!
