Good news for Capitol Hill birders!

Rain beats road on Capitol Hill: Interlaken Drive closed indefinitely

The rain a few weeks ago caused Interlaken Drive, the road that snakes down around Interlaken Park, to slip cutting some Qwest phone lines and making the pavement lumpy. The road was closed temporarily but now has been closed indefinitely.

The good news for birders is this is a nice road to walk down to look into the trees in the park at canopy height, especially during spring migration. Now you can do it without worrying about cars whipping around a corner a bit too quickly.

But watch out for the cyclists. I'm sure they'll still be there.
