I was out at Midway Beach on saturday, after the Westport Pelagic trip.
The 'pond' was way too full to get across without high boots, so I was heading back to my car when I heard a Bittern calling.
>From about 50 feet behind (north of) the outhouse, in the middle of the dunes, behind the Scotch Broom!
I could not even see any rushes or cat-tails behind there, but both a Bittern and a Marsh Wren were calling away ...

Not exactly where I would have expected those species ....
