I was standing next to the kitchen window this evening when a male CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD landed on the feeder just outside. We were less than two feet apart. He revisited the feeder and perched long enough in a vine maple for Kevin to see him with binoculars and take a photo.
Last year on May 6, I had a male Calliope visit the same feeder one time, then later, on the same day, I heard him vocalizing as a Rufous male chased him away.
