Hi Tweeters,

Husband Bill and I spent the first two weeks of April doing a
Birds and History birding tour with Sundbird. As you can imagine, we were
excited to visit Egypt for all kinds of reasons, not the least of which was
that a revolution had taken place there two months previously. Except in
one instance the police presence was gone and our little birding tour went
all over Egypt by ourselves except for our official Egyptian tour guide (a
necessity since none of us spoke Arabic!) and Egyptian driver.

In any case we both did our best to take pictures of the birds
we saw. Some were birds common in Europe, but migrating northward through
the desert. Others were year around resident. We saw one Western
Palearctic rarity-an African Mourning Dove. If you're interested in what we
managed to catch digitally, please follow the link to our Flickr site.
