Subject: [Tweeters] Black-chinned Hummingbird in Pierce County

Greetings All,
I made a quick mid-morning run through the Riverside Disc Golf Course near
Sumner (on Riverside Road) today. I have been checking it quite regularly,
but with migration being suppressed by the weather had not had much luck.
Today was different though! The best bird was a female Black-chinned
Hummingbird that came in to mob my pygmy-owl tooting and then checked out a
few of the sapsucker wells near the river. I observed the bird for a couple
minutes as it feverishly wagged its tail.

Other new arrivals and good birds included a Cassin's Vireo and several
Warbling Vireos, and at least 5 (!) Nashville Warblers.

For the past few days I've been hearing Hammond's Flycatchers coming through
around South Hill. I've also had at least 3 Townsend's Solitaires, a Yellow
Warbler yesterday, and today finally had a Wilson's Warbler in my yard.

Cheers,
Charlie Wright
