Today I walked the 2.6-mile southerly loop trail on the Mima Mounds
Natural Area, Thurston County. Sparrows were few, but I did see 2
Vesper Sparrow (plus 8 Savannah Sparrow.

Much noise was coming from the gunnery range. A small crew was on site
selectively applying Fusilade DX. Most bird presence was in the
southeast part of area away from noise & work crew.

Other prairie birds seen or heard were few: 1 Ring-necked Pheasant, 2
Western Meadowlark.
