Tweets,

This morning, Evan Houston and I spent a few hours in the typical dismal
gray of this year's Spring. But, we found pockets of nice birds to make the
time enjoyable. Ducks are all but gone: we saw only a handful of Bufflehead
and Common Mergansers. Red-necked and Western Grebes were still visible.
Evan scoped the lake and thought he saw what might have been a Rhinoceros
Auklet on the other side of the lake. Other notables:

Eurasian Collared-Dove
Vaux's Swift, well over 50, among the dozens of Violet-green, and handfuls
of Barn and Tree Swallows
Hammond's Flycatcher (2)
Warbling Vireo
Golden- and Ruby-crowned Kinglet still around, as was a Hermit Thrush
Fox and Lincoln's Sparrow
Yellow-headed Blackbird, giving its kuduk call
Greater Yellowlegs, calling and seen flying away
Least Sandpiper, 2 flying over lake edge
Chipping Sparrow

8 (!) warblers, 6 of which were found in the sloping grove at the south
edge of the park:
Orange-crowned (12)
Nashville (2)
Myrtle (1) and Audubon's (20)
Black-throated Gray (3)
Townsend's (2)
Common Yellowthroat (6)
Wilson's (8)

For the day, 64 species. Nothing like a mini-bonanza to make a gray day
into a hey day.
