Hi all,

Though the pace of flyover migrants has decreased since Monday at Point
no Point, there still seems to be a few goodies around most days (like
Jamie Acker's Lark Sparrow on Wednesday). This morning Vic Nelson and I
enjoyed a female MT. BLUEBIRD along the driftwood south of the
lighthouse. I guess by remaining perfectly still on its driftwood perch
it somehow escaped detection from a hunting MERLIN in the area.
Shorebirds seemed to be on the move this morning and flyover/calling
LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER and WHIMBRELwere the two highlights. A COMMON TERN
was again in the area and there has been a recent uptick in the numbers
of Bonaparte's Gulls (with percentage of 1st-winter birds now increasing).

Though I had my FOS Black-headed Grosbeak and a few Western Tanagers are
about, I would expect at some point in the next week or so to have a
decent movement of those two species along with some Western Kingbirds
and Bullock's Orioles tossed into the mix.
