Tweets,

This past Thursday morning a friend of mine called me from the parking lot near the Osprey nest described in Diann's friend's message.

He told me an adult Osprey had been dangling from the top of the cell tower "for several hours." According to him several other Ospreys had "attacked " the entangled bird, but (it gets "better") an adult Bald Eagle had swooped in to "protect" the entangled Osprey (I'm just telling you what he told me).

Apparently the Osprey nest on this cell tower had been removed after last year's nesting season and the Ospreys are/were in the process of rebuilding and one bird got entangled. I know I often see string/twine incorporated in Osprey nests.

As we spoke both wildlife rescue agencies ("some company with an S" I suggested Sarvey and he thought that might be it) as well the cell tower company people were on their way to deal with the situation. From the sounds of it, I think that's what happened.

This past Thursday (5/05) I saw a couple of guys in a cherry bucket put the osprey that was perched there, in a bag and take it away. I think they may have removed the nest also. I don't know who to contact to find out why this was done. My boss saw a truck that said Wren on the side. I thought it might be some sort of bird rescue organization but, when I googled it, nothing really came up. Do you happen to know anything about this? Or do you know who I could contact to either get more info or to report it?>>
