Counted the shorebirds at afternoon high tide at Bowerman. Numbers were
down from Friday, when I had the boardwalk pretty much to myself, as the
rain that cycle was constant. Sat., however, was pretty nice weather with
good light.

Roughly 45,000 birds, including estimate from the island. Most interesting
was a single pectoral sandpiper. Only one red knot; they seem to be
reluctant to come in to the basin this season (reports of quite a few in other
areas of north Grays Harbor.)

Most fun was watching three peregrines at one time. Between them and
one merlin, the flocks were kept somewhat on their toes. Saw one
immature plumaged PEFA make a snatch, by flying right through the middle
of a flock of dunlin.
