Paid a brief visit to Wenas CG mid-morning today (5/8). An hour spent wandering the roads around the CG turned up 4 species of Woodpecker
White-headed WP (1)
Red-naped Sapsucker (4)
Downy WP (1)
N. Flicker (1)

Other species seen/heard included:
Chipping SP
Red breasted Nuthatch
Am Robin
Turkey Vulture
Brown Headed Cowbird
Mountain Chickadee
White crowned and Golden Crowned Sparrows
Yellow-rumped Warbler

As with everywhere else, Spring is late this year...most of the shrubs and trees in the area haven't leafed out yet. Conditions should be perfect for the Memorial Day Campout.

The Audubon road is white knuckle passable in the family minivan.....just go dead slow and stay alert.

Cheers,
Ed Deal
