I spent the entire day birding Whidbey Island. Observed 105 species. Highlights include:

Pacific Loon - too many to count from Sandy Hook
American Bittern - 3 at Ewing Ponds, galunking and flying about
SANDHILL CRANE - 3 vocal birds, flying around Cultus Bay; finally landing with some cows at the head of the bay
Sora - in the marsh at the corner of Sills and Ewing
Whimbrel - 10 birds at Sunlight Beach
Ruddy Turnstone - several birds on the platforms in Penn Cove with Black Turnstones and Surfbirds

No flycatchers. No Black-headed Grosbeak or Western Tanager. No vireos.
