Hi Tweeters,

This evening (5/10/11) between 7 & 7:30 I ejoyed a duet of a
nearby unseen SOOTY GROUSE and scope views of a tooting NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL.
This occurred at the Bridge Viewpoint area at MP 29.3 of SR 504. I stopped
at an old logging landing immediately across SR 504 from the viewpoint and
heard the grouse as soon as I got out of my car. After deciding not to
bushwhack to find this bird I played a little Pygmy-owl and had one fly to
the top of a nearby fir and start tooting. Both were still vocalizing when I
left some time later.
