OK, I know this is not going to go well but I have to try. I spent a lot of time photographing 2 different empidonax flycatchers at Malheur NWR, neither of which was I able to ID with any certainty. They were not calling (which probably wouldn't have done me much good anyway at my present level of knowledge and poor hearing), but were only a few feet off the ground, actively feeding from the bushes and trees around the Visitor's Center (mixed Ponderosa Pine, Cottonwoods, Willows, etc - surrounded by desert sagebrush on 3 sides and the lake on the other). The images are good enough I hate to just label them as "flycatchers." On the sightings board in the Visitor's Center for that day (a few weeks ago) two flycatchers were named, the Cordilleran and Willow. Since I don't know who did the posting, and flycatchers ID can a bit tricky, I've been reluctant to accept them though they seemed to fit.
