This morning I found a juvenile Swainson's Hawk (light morph) perched on the
perimeter fence at Sea-Tac Airport. The bird was remarkably tame, allowing a
truck to drive by at slow speed about 15' away.
I was able to capture it easily and re-located it away from the runways.
Released in Skagit County near the Samish Flats.
This is only the third Swainson's I have seen in western WA, all of them
spring migrants during April and now May.
