The first bird Charlie Wright, Emily Runnells, Michael Schrimpf and I
saw at Sentinel Bluffs this afternoon was a Wilson's Warbler. The
second was a Brown Thrasher, right at the point where you first reach
the trees from the road. Despite searching for it several times we
never saw it again after our initial sighting. Also present were four
Gray Catbirds and a 'pugetensis' White-crowned Sparrow.

Earlier in the day at the Stampede Pass exit there were both Red-naped
and Red-breasted Sapsuckers, plus a hybrid between the two. Up Reecer
Creek Road we had nice views of two Purple Finches with a pair of
Cassin's Finches, plus a pair of Williamson's Sapsuckers. Evening
Grosbeaks were just about everywhere in the Cle Elum and Ellensburg
areas, even heard flying over while we were stopped at a patch of
sage.
