I've been enjoying reading all the sightings in the Seattle area, but haven't taken too much specific note since I live in Port Angeles. But it turns out I have to take someone to the airport in SeaTac very early on Sunday, June 5th, so I thought perhaps I could sneak in a bit of King county birding before driving home.

Being an out-of towner I have no idea how to get to interesting areas where I could spend an hour or two. I'd appreciate input that anyone has, including driving instructions since I don't know which roads are good, which to avoid, etc that a google maps might try to send me on.

Rather than overload "Tweeters" they could be sent to my email address:judyemull at yahoo.com

Judy,

The WOS web site has a directory of birding sites by county, with many listings for King County.

From the airport I would think that the Kent Ponds and Boeing Ponds would get you into habitat quickly from Sea Tac, and then perhaps head north once the morning traffic dies down.
