We visited the Swauk cemetary for a few minutes yesterday and found a Northern Flicker intergrade.? I usually don't pay too much attention to flickers - they come to our feeders every day.?? But there wasn't much else in the area to watch and it caught my eye.? It did have?the red nape and malar.? I have a picture that shows both - it's not the best but it worked for ID purpose . There are also quite a few western bluebirds in the same area.?

We continued up the Teanaway Valley, ?and as we crossed the river just before the Teanaway West Fork Rd. we stopped to look around? that area and found some yellow rumped warblers and some beautiful yellow warblers.? There was one bird that we only caught a quick?look at.? It was on the side?of a tree like a woodpecker would normally be but it had a pale yellow breast.??We?looked for about a half?hour trying to?see it again but no luck.??It was one of those?"what was that" moments.? We'll have to take a trip again when the weather is a little better. ? The rain was starting again!

Have a good day
