Hi Tweets,

We seem doomed to ongoing cool temperatures and cloudy skies. It makes
warbler viewing a little difficult but not impossible. Wilson's,
Orange-crowned, and Yellow Warblers were seen around the Edmonds Marsh
and Point Edwards public paths this morning (5-22-11). Other migrants
included Western Wood Pewees at the Willow Creek Hatchery, and Rufous
Hummingbird (arrived last weekend), Black-headed Grosbeak, and Western
Tanagers on the south side of Pine Street. Woodpeckers included
Northern Flicker, Downy, and Red-breasted Sapsucker in the Hatchery
area. Spotted Sandpiper is back at the Marsh. Purple Finches are also
at the Marsh. Very few birds were on the Sound, but three alcids could
be seen from the Public Pier: Pigeon Guillemot, 5 Marbled Murrelets,
and 4 Rhinoceros Auklets. Other than that, it was just the resident
birds.

Good birding,

Carol Riddell
